Overwatered or underwatered?

The signs can look alike.

4 min read

Both can cause drooping. The soil tells you which.

Check the soil

  • Wet soil and drooping or mushy stems: overwatered; let it dry and check the roots
  • Dry soil and crispy, drooping leaves: underwatered; water deeply
  • Wet soil that smells sour can mean root rot; repot into fresh mix, removing mushy roots
